Karlene Kantner is a ceramic artist and community arts educator whose facilitative approach to teaching promotes both personal and social development through meaningful experiences of love, confidence, and trust which, in turn, promotes engagement and joy within the broader context of family, society and the more than human community. She earned her bachelors of Fine Art in Ceramics from the University of Montana and was recently invited to Flower City Arts Center in Rochester NY where she served as an Artist in Residence. While an intern at the Clay Studio of Missoula, she cultivated an enthusiasm for atmospheric wood firing with dear friends and mentors in the Blue Mountains of Missoula, MT. She currently lives and holds a studio practice in the Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts.
